Space, Rock, and a Touch of Freedom: A Children’s Photo Session in Yekaterinburg 🌌🎸

We have complete mutual understanding with Avrora: she loves being photographed, and I love searching for unusual locations. Avrora is my grandniece, and for this new shoot we decided to move away from fairy-tale images and go for a bold rock style: leather, chains, and metal.

The background was chosen deliberately — “Prospekt Kosmonavtov” metro station. For me, it is the most atmospheric station in the city: the lights resemble flying saucers, and the mirrored columns create the feeling of being on a spaceship.

Avrora and her mother Alexandra supported the idea. On Saturday morning, while the city was still sleeping in after the workweek, we arrived at the station and captured the planned shots. By the way, after the shoot I learned an interesting fact: Vyacheslav Butusov, the legendary rock musician, participated in designing this station. It’s nice that a place I love so much is connected with his name. Taking this opportunity, I congratulate him on his anniversary!

In the frame we have leather and chains, but the chains here are not about captivity — they are about the ability to break free. The chrome columns stretch upward, and it feels like space is very close.
