Russian Style Children’s Photo Shoot with a Kitten
Red Sarafan, Kokoshnik and a Fluffy Muse: The Story of a Photo Shoot
Sometimes the warmest shots are born where there is room for improvisation and little surprises. That’s exactly how our shoot with the charming first-grader Aurora turned out.
We drew inspiration from the paintings of Russian artists — the kind filled with soulfulness, light, and delicate beauty. For Aurora, we chose an outfit worthy of a true fairytale heroine: a bright red sarafan and an elegant kokoshnik. This look instantly transported us into the atmosphere of old Russian life, filled with tranquility and harmony.
In the frame, Aurora is focused on embroidering a delicate flower on a hoop. But the main surprise was her fluffy little assistant — a cat named Marusya. Seeing the moving thread and the soft embroidery, she simply couldn’t stay away. Her genuine curiosity, careful little paws touching the pattern, and inquisitive eyes became the true highlight of the shoot. It was one of those moments of pure happiness and coziness that you just can’t plan.
We managed to capture an amazing contrast: the girl’s concentration on her needlework and the playfulness of little mischief-maker Marusya. These photos radiate warmth, kindness, and that special atmosphere where everything just falls into place perfectly.
Would you like such a lively and heartfelt story for your child?
As a photographer in Yekaterinburg, I absolutely love creating these kinds of sincere stories. A children’s photo shoot in Yekaterinburg is not just about “standing against a wall and smiling.” It’s an opportunity to capture real emotions, play, and interaction with the world and those around us.
Let’s create an image together and find that special “spark” — whether it’s a fluffy pet, a favorite toy, or a captivating activity, just like Aurora had.
